How it works
How to track something you want to stop or reduce
Quitmark is a tracker, not a programme. You name the Activity and provide the plan details; it keeps records and shows calculations based on those details. It does not choose an Activity, grade you or decide whether a change is appropriate.
Activities you define
Create an Activity for something you have chosen to stop or do less often. You choose whether each record is an occurrence or a measured amount, and provide singular and plural unit labels. Quitmark does not provide templates or infer a category from what you enter.
Plans and planned times
Stop on a date
Choose a date as the destination for an Activity you want to stop. The date is your plan premise, not proof that anything stopped.
Reduce over time
Choose starting and destination amounts and dates. Quitmark calculates a transparent straight-line projection between those endpoints. For occurrence-based reduction plans, it can also calculate a planned gap and next planned time from the spacing premise you selected. These are descriptions of the plan, not permission, advice or evidence of what happened.
Count first
If you want to reduce but do not know your starting daily amount, begin by recording without a target. Quitmark can later suggest a plan from the amounts you recorded; you choose whether to use it. An unrecorded day remains unknown.
Moments and Pause
Record a difficult moment with an optional self-rating, context, outcome and note. Moments are your observations; Quitmark does not diagnose a cause, predict an outcome or score effectiveness. Missing records remain unknown.
Pause is a separate 1–30-minute timer. Follow the circle if it feels comfortable, or breathe at your own pace. You can stop at any time. Completing Pause does not write a record or infer an outcome.
Progress and money
Progress is free. It shows factual plan, tracking and goal markers, not health changes or success inferred from a blank day. If you add costs, Quitmark keeps confirmed recorded spending separate from estimated plan differences and projections.
An estimate uses the amounts, dates and prices you entered. It is not a statement that an Activity did or did not happen, or that money was saved.
Quitmark is a general personal tracking tool. It does not determine whether stopping or reducing something is safe. Do not use it to manage medication, alcohol or drug withdrawal, eating-disorder treatment, self-harm, or another medical condition. Seek appropriate professional help for medical or safety decisions.
What is free, and what Quitmark Plus adds
The tracker is free and is not a trial: no expiry, no advertising, no account. Quitmark Plus is a one-time unlock, bought through the App Store or Google Play, that adds the following.
Free, and not a trial
- Recording everything, with no limit on records
- Difficult moments and the journal, with any note you want
- Pause, for as long as you choose
- Every record read back to you — counts, totals and recorded spending
- Progress markers
- Exporting everything as JSON, importing it back, and deleting it all
No account, no advertising, and no expiry.
Quitmark Plus — one payment
- More Activities — Keep more than three Activities active.
- Records and your plan — Each day's records beside your plan as a chart, and the time of day your records happen.
- Periods side by side — Put this period beside the ones before it.
- Your plan, added up — What the rest of your plan comes to, from tomorrow. Worked out from your plan alone, not a prediction.
- Themes — Three more palettes, including a light one and a true-black one.
Bought once through the App Store or Google Play, restorable on a new phone. Not a subscription.
Where your data lives
On your phone, in the app's own storage. Quitmark has no account, sync or operated Activity-data server. iOS device backups may retain app data in your Apple account; Android backup and transfer are disabled. Deleting inside the app removes the profile and history from that installation, not an iOS device backup or an exported file.
Getting a copy out — the complete JSON export — is free, and so is getting a backup back in, and so is deleting everything. None of the ways into or out of your own data has a price on it, and none ever will: a paywall in front of your own way out would make the unlock a hostage situation rather than a purchase.
The honest consequence of having no server: if you lose the phone without a backup, the history is lost. That is the trade we made deliberately, and the privacy notice spells it out.
