There are two separate things on this page, and it is worth keeping them apart: the app, which sends no Activity history to Quitmark, and this website, which counts page views.

The app

Quitmark keeps your Activity data on your device. There is no account system, no analytics inside the app, and no server holding your plans, records or Moments. We cannot recover it because we never had it. Deleting the app or its local data does not remove an iOS device backup from your Apple account or a file you previously exported or shared.

Everything you enter stays on the device, including:

  • Your Activity names, tracking basis, plans, amounts, dates and spacing preferences
  • Your submitted records, confirmed spending and notes
  • Your difficult moments — optional ratings, contexts, outcomes and notes
  • Your financial goals, Progress markers and archived Activities
  • Your theme and app settings

It is held in the app's own storage. It is not transmitted to us, and it is not encrypted beyond whatever your device already does — anyone with your unlocked phone can read it, the same as your notes app.

Device backups differ by platform, and it is worth being exact about which is which. On iPhone and iPad this data is included in your iCloud device backup, if you have that switched on. It is your own backup in your own Apple account, and we cannot read it. We leave it included deliberately: there is no account here and no copy on any server of ours, so that backup and your own exported file are the only ways your history survives a lost phone. Excluding the app in your device settings is your call, and it works the same either way.On Android, cloud backup and device transfer are switched off, so Quitmark does not include its app data in those services — and an exported file is then the only way to move your history to a new device. Exporting is free on both.

The app does talk to Apple or Google when you buy or restore the paid unlock, and those stores and their billing components process purchase and operational data under their own terms. Quitmark does not ask the app to send us your name, card, email or Activity history. It opens a support link when you tap one, and it shares an export only with the destination you pick.

This website

This site uses Plausible, a privacy-focused analytics service, on the live site only. It sets no cookies, does not follow you between sites and does not build a profile of you. What it records is the page you looked at, the site that referred you, and rough country-level location derived from your IP address — the IP address itself is not stored.

We look at that to know whether anyone is finding the site. There are no custom events, no user identifiers, and nothing that could connect a visit here to anything in the app — the app does not talk to this website at all, and none of your Activity data exists on the web in any form.

The site is served from AWS Amplify Hosting, which like any web server processes the ordinary request data needed to deliver a page — IP address, user agent, the URL requested — and keeps short-lived access logs. Plausible is operated in the EU and stores no IP addresses; what it keeps is a count.

Neither of those can be joined to anything in the app, because the app never contacts this website. There is no identifier shared between them and nothing to join on.

There is nothing to sign up for on this site. No newsletter, no comments, no account, no advertising, and no third-party trackers beyond the analytics named above.

Your rights and getting in touch

Because there is no account and no server-side record, there is nothing for us to look up, correct or delete on request — the data is in your hands, in the app, where you can export or erase all of it yourself. For anything else, including questions about the website analytics, write to privacy@quitmark.com.
